I’m often asked, “Why the dragonfly?”
For those that know me, they understand and appreciate the background behind my ‘connection’ to the dragonfly. It is both a personal and spiritual ‘connection’ that began shortly after my mom passed away. Coincidental dragonfly encounters that I experience seem to defy the simple explanations. The appearance of dragonflies at uniquely specific times and the personal ‘connection’ that I felt were really what compelled me to do some research on the symbolic nature of dragonflies as I considered rebranding my business. Creative design and working with my clients is really all about a ‘connection’.
Being a creature of the wind, the dragonfly represents change. And we all know that in today’s business world change is truly the only constant. The dragonfly is characterized by amazing flight patterns as it appears to be able to change direction swiftly, gliding through the air with no apparent effort. It is said that no insect or bird can manoeuvre as well as the dragonfly as they twist, turn, move up and down, fly backwards, and even change direction instantaneously. Sounds a lot like life and business. The Dragonfly is related to the subconscious world – the world of hidden ideas and dreams. Their powerful ability to see in 360 degrees around them, looking at things from different angles, symbolizes uninhibited vision to gain a new perspective, to adapt and tackle issues from different angles, to find a true vision. A Dragonfly is a symbol of prosperity, strength, happiness, change, wisdom, harmony and peace.
All of this makes the dragonfly the perfect icon for the imagination, perception, passion and inspirational approach to our creative projects.
